Oh man, it’s happened again. This newsletter is LATE. I mean, I had a feeling this might happen this summer but I didn’t think I’d be so behind on things.
There is always a point in the summer where I lose track of time a little bit. My kids are out of school, the days are incredibly long, and I have fully let go of the kind of meal prepping, tightly wound, time-bound life that I mostly adhere to during the rest of the year. There is always the feeling that the day will linger long enough that I will get to everything that needs tending. There are many days where nothing gets done.
Simultaneously, there is the pull of days flashing past in what feels like an instant. The constant turnover and churn, the undertow of time, no matter how I dig my heels in, pulls everything out from under me. Still there has been time for a lot of things, a lot of photography, a lot of family, a lot of missing my daughter who is at sleep away camp for THREE whole weeks this year, which is both exciting and terrifying all at once.
I want to make the most of every moment, I think that’s a big part of why photographing families speaks to me so much.
I get to hold on to moments forever.
I wonder sometimes if the earliest photographers knew what kind of spell they were casting when they invented these techniques. They must have known, they must have felt it too. The sweet magic of making a moment last forever, hanging it on your wall, putting it in your wallet. They absolutely must have known.
It is always around these last warm days of summer that things start to get really busy for my photography business and while I am generally up for an adventure, and pretty much always an enthusiastic yes to a last minute session, it helps everyone if we have a plan in advance.
Getting a photo session on my books now is the best way to ensure that we don’t run out of time before the weather turns and schedules fill up.
This is a 1 hour session within 90 minutes of Portland, Maine. Sessions can be booked at your home or a location that you love. Maine has an abundance of stunning locations and I would be happy to suggest a place, especially the beach.
Images are made using both digital and analog film cameras and are delivered via a private online gallery with printing rights.
Once you have purchased the session, I will be in contact with you within 24 hours and we will set a date and location.
Cost of a session is $425 + 5.5% ME state sales tax.

So many of you have helped my business stay afloat amidst a very turbulent world and I am thankful for each and every one of you.
